Christians all over the world today are celebrating Jesus resurrection. It was just the beginning! Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:20-23
‘Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.’
Jesus’ resurrection means that those of us who have faith in him, who trust in the Father who raised him from the dead, can be confident that those who belong to him, whether they are living or dead when he comes, will also share in his victory over death. (see Romans 6:1-14)
Prayer: loving Father in heaven, thanks for giving me, in Jesus, the victory over sin and death. Just as you raised him from the grave, you will also raise me up at the great day of Jesus’ return. May I be able to live more victoriously today as you use that resurrection power in me. In the name of Jesus; Amen.

Sung praise: The Same power
Sung by: Worship Central
'The Same power' lyrics
There is power in His name For the stone was rolled away Mountains bow down before Jesus Christ, our risen Lord Jesus Christ, our risen Lord Mighty Saviour lifted high King forever, Jesus Christ Crowned in glory, raised to life The same power lives in us We will rise, stand and sing Of our great and matchless King Seated high on the throne You shall reign forever more You shall reign forever more Mighty Saviour lifted high King forever, Jesus Christ Crowned in glory, raised to life The same power lives in us The grave could not contain The power of His name Death you overcame Once and for all Mighty Saviour lifted high King forever, Jesus Christ Crowned in glory, raised to life The same power lives in us

Spoken word for Easter – part 2
The Easter story through the lens of Peter.
- If you missed Part 1, you can find it HERE. Part 1 is Peter re-telling the final few days of Jesus’ life; from his palm-leaf entry into Jerusalem, through to Jesus’ trial and Peter’s denial.
- This is Part 2, where Peter re-tells the twist in the story. From the empty tomb to fish sarnies on a beach, and the penny dropping of what it all means…

- Today is Easter Sunday; but the resurrection makes little sense, if you haven’t left all your ‘badness’ at the cross to be borne by Christ – Good Friday comes before Easter morning. If you haven’t had a chance to reflect on this, here is Max’s thought from Friday…
Life Connect daily page from Counties on a channel called Counties Connect.

This week on Counties Connect, Bob Telford’s theme was the ‘Easter week’.
The rising from the dead of Jesus was irrefutable evidence that Jesus was who he claimed to be and that the work he was given to do on earth was completed. Listen to Bob as he tells of the ‘finished work’ of Jesus…

Ring a friend
Carry on contacting. Many people are still lonely and even depressed for various reasons. Share the good news that first Easter means with one another on the phone or via text and tell each other about how God has blessed you.
Do one better and have a video chat: you can do that with WhatsApp, Skype, or Zoom, etc. Even better, now the lockdown is partially eased, arrange to visit (remember to stay outside and separated per the rules).
Pray for one another
Who doesn’t need our prayers? Think of how has God has touched your life in this past week. Give thanks. Commit your family and friends to Him and pray for those who are lonely, troubled, or ill at this time.
Continue to pray that the Government may be guided towards wise decisions and actions, as they continue to deal with the pandemic.
